Description: The debarkers of the Fraser mill in Edmundston remove the bark from 4-foot logs. We see a worker handling wood with a pickaroon. Water was pumped up from the Madawaska River to wash the logs. Those logs came from the haul-up installed on the Madawaka River bank. Once debarked, logs were transported by a conveyor inside the mill or piled for winter. It was a seasonal operation.
