Description: From 1955 onward, Fraser hired workers to retrieve wood stuck at the bottom of the Madawaska River. This operation allowed both cleaning the river and salvaging wood. Here we see a pike pole "fishing" a 4-foot log from the Madawaska River bottom. This wood was transported to the Fraser Mill in Edmundston.
