Description: From 1955 onward, Fraser hired workers to salvage wood from the bottom of the Madawaska River during winter. They cleaned the river and recuperated wood caught at the bottom of the river. Here we see a man pulling a log from the river with a pike pole. The retrieved wood was then transported to the Fraser mill in Edmundston.
