Fishing Wood on the Madawaska River

Description: From 1955 onward, Fraser hired workers to retrieve wood from the bottom of the Madawaska River during winter. They cleaned the river and the recuperated the pulpwood caught at the bottom of the river. Wood was then hauled to the Fraser Mill in Edmundston. Picture taken in the early 1970s.
