Description: A bird's-eye view of the new (Plaster Rock) Fraser sawmill located on the hill. Picture taken on September 27th, 1973. The roofed building is the sawmill where logs were debarked and sawed. On the left of the building we notice the construction of a heated water pond where logs would be washed, and thawed during wintertime to facilitate the barking process. The uncovered building is where lumber was sorted by size and quality and then stored. The new circular structure would be the waste incinerator. It is where unusable waste (mainly bark) would be burned. The building at the end would be the lumber kiln where lumber would be dried after being cut. Notice the old Plaster Rock sawmill at the bottom of the hill. The old mill was built in 1906.
